I am writing this about one of the most dedicated and caring people I ever met, Mr. Ed DeRienze. Ed was one of our founding fathers of the Delaware County Field & Stream Association.  Our club was chartered in 1939.  Since that time, Ed dedicated most of his life to the club. Being a club member myself for 53 years, I learned a lot about Ed and how much he cared for the club.  His dedication to the club and in his writings about all the things the club has participated in over the last 60 plus years will kept at the club as a reminder of all good things past.  He was a leader in many conservation efforts.  Not only at the club but also throughout the county.  He was an Army veteran and proud of it. Ed participated in everything the club, including fly tying, fishing, both fresh and salt water, taking care of the environment, that included stream cleanups, to the making of birdhouses. He participated in events and shoots on all the clubs ranges.  In the old days, he made his own bow and arrows. Ed was the club's newspaper editor for 35 years, and the club photographer for many years.  He was a past president, and at the time of his passing, he was a club Steward and range officer at the air gun range, that he originated.  He enjoyed giving instructions to the junior members and the many troops of Boy Scouts that frequent our ranges. He was an active member of the old-timers league. To speak of his many accomplishments would take up many pages and still would not do him justice.  He was one-of-a-kind. He will be missed but not forgotten by many of us have had the privilege of knowing him.

A TRIBUTE TO A GREAT MAN AND SHINING LIGHT AMONG US

Ed DeRienze was a friend to all and mentor to all that would learn.

Considering his many accomplishments Ed was humble, but very strong.

Ed was loyal to his friends and supportive of anyone that needed help.

Ed would stand up for what he believed to be right, but was never insulting.

Ed gave a great deal to His Country, His Friends, His Community, and His Club without asking for anything in return. He did a great deal for our club and the members in general. I could go on with specifics, but that would take many pages and now is not the time for that.

Let it be known that ED De Rienze is one of the most Loved and Respected among us. It is My Prayer that he Knew that !

Ed WILL BE SORELY MISSED BY ALL THAT KNEW and Loved HIM
